Hello all,
I'm writing this because I had sergery yesterday, and I'm feeling really uncomfortable. I had a nerve stimulater put in to control my epilepsy and now I've got these deep stiches in my chest which they had to cover up with some kind of paste to hold my skin together, and I've got some chord or something in my neck so I can only turn my head so far and I've got paste over that to. Anyway, the reason I'm writing, is because I'm not feeling naushus or dizzy so I can stay up now I think, but the spots where I have stiches still are very uncomfortable. I wondered if anyone had any ideas on what I should do so I could feel more comfortable, and enjoy my dayly life? I have to be very careful with these because not even 5 minutes after I got home yesterday, I was taking off my jacket and must've torn the one on my chest open so I had to go back and wait for my doctor to show up and I didn't get to sleep yet so hopefully within a week or so, this won't be so bad. Sleeping is the most uncomfortable thing to do so far. I didn't think it would be so bad because I had to sleep on either my right side or my back but I tried sleeping on my right side twice and felt like I was going to tare the insision on my chest again so I gave up, and sleeping on your back in one posision for so long can really hurt. But anyway, I'm really not trying to bitch, I'm really not, I just wanted people to see where I was coming from and to let me know if there's something that I could do to make myself feel better. If I could get some help, I'd really apreciate it.
Thanks,
Jasmin
I know it has to be frustrating for you and I don't blame you. Did they give you any type of muscle relaxers? How about asprin will that help? I'm sorry I'm not much help here but I'm sure after a week or two you will start to feel better.

I know sleeping is uncomfortable, but try to get as much of it as you can. Our bodies heal fastest in sleep. Also, make sure you're eating foods that are good for you, so your body gets the best nutrition it can while it's healing. If you're really feeling lousy, even if it's just what you described above, contact your doctor and ask what to do. That's what doctors and their staff are around for.
Well, now I do have to say I'm feeling better. i didn't see there was a health and wellness board, guess I should've posted it there. Thank you for the replies, it helps. Now I'm going to try and do a really fun topic. Grin. Hopefully these stitches will be gone by Tuesday, thank god. lol. Anyway, I'll talk to you guys later. And thanks for the help.
